1. Make sure you orient yourself. There is a compass in the lower right hand corner. The "N" stands for "north" and points roughly "up."

2. The starting point for the history hunt is the Omni Hotel. Can you find it on this map ?

3. The instructions tell you to walk east from the Omni. Which direction is east on this map ?

4. The orange circles represent shuttle stops. If you have time, take a free ride and tour additional parts of historic, downtown Charlottesville.

5. Finally, don't forget to visit the Albemarle-Charlottesville Historical Society (indicated by the red square) to learn more about your city.
